Tatting Fairs and Conventions

Gentle knotters, tatting friends we know well and those we don’t know yet, the 9^th International Tatting Seminars in Hector are Saturday April 5 (9-5) and Sunday April 6 (9:30-4:30) – and you’re invited.

Gentle knotters, tatting friends we know well and those we don’t know yet, the 9^th International Tatting Seminars in Hector are Saturday April 14 (9-5) and Sunday April 15 (9:30-4:30) – and you’re invited.

Dentelle Quebec Lace welcomes you to Canada East for a week of French joie de vivre, downtown Montreal for this year IOLI convention starting with early registration on Saturday, July 22nd and continuing with and opening reception, lot of tables of lace treasures in the sales room and of course a lot of fun, challenging classes taught by great lace instructors from all over the world! Evening programs and lectures will also make this lace week very special.

There are 5 different tatting classes taught by 3 different teachers, and there is something for shuttle and needle tatters.

Class Information will be posted on their website (see below) on or by March 15th, with registration opening by April 1st, aka International Tatting day. Registration is expected to close around mid-may, so get your applications in as soon as you can.

You are invited to join us for an exhibition of our members' needlework. Various techniques and media will be displayed in artwork created by needle artists of all levels. Members will be available to answer questions and to demonstrate various needlework techniques for those interested. There will also be an original embroidery challenge with the theme 'Threads of Memory', in which some of our members will compete with their own original designs. For those of you who are also interested in quilting, Quilt Canada 2006 is being held in Ottawa during that week with many quilting-related events and the Common Threads Quilt Guild will be holding their quilt exhibit at the RA Centre on the same weekend.

We have scheduled 5 sessions, 2 on Friday and 3 on Saturday, that work around our theme for this year: "Shuttling Through Time: A Look at Tatting Past, Present and Future"

We have a great lineup of Teachers this year. The information is being updated on our website: www.shuttlebirds.com and should be available soon, hopefully by February 1st , 2006.

No cost to exhibit work but there is a $5.00 admission charge. There will be guest speakers and Victorian Teas.

Ruth Perry (aka Rosella Linden) from Ohio, who will be presenting a Celtic flower and snail.

REGISTRATION IS LIMITED TO 30 ON SUNDAY

Saturday mini-workshops - (1 1/2 hours) - indicate first and second choice - later responders are assigned to open classes - we will try to be flexible, but last minute changes probably will not happen.

Registrations need to be sent to Sue Hodge at 900 Pannell Road, Macedon, NY 14502. Please register no later than March 30 - your confirmation and information on any additional materials will be sent by April 2.
